A Libertarian Adventure
Elections are coming sooner than expected. There has never been more dissatisfaction with BIG GOVERNMENT parties than now. Being a LTN candidate can be a life changing experience!
A common criticism.
I saw the following statement on Facebook today made in criticism of the Ontario Libertarian Party:
“Another Bernier group that thinks we will get rid of trudeau/singh cabal is they split the vote. How did that work out in 2019 and 2021?”
Evidently, the comment was made by someone unfamiliar with the differences between federal and provincial policies. Nonetheless, …
My OLP reply.
“l personally admire Maxime Bernier but don’t always agree with his policies. The PPC, like the provincial and federal LTN parties, strive to reach Canadian voters with the kind of values and principles that the major of Canadians actually want but, instead, have only ever received a steady growth in government size, cost and scope of authority under the BORG (Blue, Orange, Red and Green) parties.
The BORG represents BIG GOVERNMENT forever.
Your LTN vote represents your desire for LESS GOVERNMENT.
Libertarians want to steadily shrink governments until the day that the natural rights of all people are respected, and actively protected by every person who is hired into “public service” with that objective in clear focus.
Canada may never see a majority LTN or PPC government. BUT, libertarian policies will never become part of a truly democratic Canada until citizens first understand them, and then persistently request them from politicians of every stripe.”
Get ready for an Ontario election.
I received a call yesterday from Scott, the OLP Campaign Manager, alerting me to the likelihood that Doug Ford will call for an election within two weeks. We could be at the polls as early as March. This is coming a year early since the next expected election year was 2026.
Of course, a federal election is coming too, but this is a topic for another day.
Scott is seeking as many Ontario residents as possible to become a Libertarian candidate. I have done this ten times in the past because ….
It is an honour to represent, and to bring, Libertarian values and policies to my fellow citizens.
It is an honour to provide the only genuine LESS GOVERNMENT choice on every election ballot.
It is an honour to say to voters…
“If you want NO MORE of the BORG’s BIG GOVERNMENT promises, and if you want to SIGNIFY that LESS GOVERNMENT is the ONLY ACCEPTABLE CHOICE, then vote for what you REALLY WANT.
Setting Realistic Candidate Expectations.
I stopped being an ‘active candidate’, and began to run as a ‘paper candidate’, after my first few elections. Here is why.
The likelihood of winning against the large, well-funded and government-subsidized BORG parties, is negligible. For this reason, I could no longer, in good conscience, ask voters to donate to my campaign. I refuse to deceive them with empty promises of what I could do for them if elected.
Being a Libertarian ‘paper candidate’ gave me a freedom that none of the BORG candidates have: I can tell the truth without “political spin” or pressure from “party whips”. I reasoned that each voter will decide if the Libertarian values and principles that I espouse are vote-worthy.
An election is one more golden opportunity to share MY LIFE LENS with anyone who is willing to consider my political, economic and ethical convictions. This aligns with my firm belief that FREEDOM OF INFORMATION CHOICE for every person is a non-negotiable fundamental for the Canada I want.
I admire your tenacity and realism. It appears that you have chosen to run as an educator, as opposed to a candidate who is out to win at all costs. It seems like a laudable goal, in my opinion.
Perhaps politics would be less toxic and attract better people if every candidate followed this approach?
