A Nation of Dreams
Our national leaders claim Canada’s economy to be healthy. Many Canadians ask: “Healthy by what standard?” Is it healthier today than the economy of the 1950s when Frank Stronach arrived from Austria?
Great people do great things!
Frank Stronach has had many great successes in his 92 years. Perhaps the greatest will be his latest initiative, the Stronach Foundation for Economic Rights.
Launched early this year, this grassroots movement is gaining momentum.
The Foundation strives to reach every Canadian worker, farmer and business owner who depends upon a healthy and resilient economy for their security and prosperity.
The Lucky 68
On Monday September 23, 68 fortunate folks from primarily the Kawartha Lakes and Peterborough areas were invited to attend a special dinner event at Frank’s Organic Garden Restaurant in Aurora. Planned and promoted my Dr. Kerstin Kelly with me as her sidekick, Frank fed our bodies and our minds with types of “nutrition” that energized both.
Mr. Stronach says “I am blessed”.
Frank humbly acknowledges the extraordinary economic life experience and wisdom that he has been blessed to acquire at levels that few Canadians can match. With his Foundation as the vehicle, Mr. Stronach is offering a gift to Canada - his formula to revive our economy so that poverty can be eliminated and our human potential can flourish.
Mr. Stronach believes the Canadian economy can be restored to its former glory.
As a young immigrant from Austria in the early 1950s, Frank was able to build a tool and die making business from a one man operation into a significant engine of Canadian economic growth and prosperity. Today’s entrepreneurs should enjoy similar prospects.
Frank hopes to convince Canadians that his Seven Economic Principles deserve a place next to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It’s an addition to the federal constitution that will serve as an economic “yellow brick road” paved with sound and proven principles. These principles will guide entrepreneurs to discover what they love and for our politicians and regulators to create the needed the tax and regulatory environments that will provide every entrepreneurs with the realistic prospect of turning their passions into a prosperous career pursuit.
Frank also believes that every high school student should be exposed to the trades. This as one way for each student to experience and discover their passions and to build a workforce that can make Canada a nation that “builds things” as it did when he came to Canada.
Organic food, not industrial food.
Did you know that Frank is also passionate about organic food and farming? Me neither.
When he spoke about his Seventh Principle, a room full of faces smiled in synchrony and heads nodded sagely. Frank believes that all children deserve an organic food breakfast and lunch to provide them the nutrients and energy to learn and grow.
Furthermore, when today’s children grow up expecting and consuming healthy and natural food, they will teach the next generation to expect the same. A virtuous cycle begins with virtuous first steps - a point that Frank makes with his evident love of children.
A surprise announcement
Near the end of the evening, Dr. Kerstin Kelly of Kawartha Lakes was named a national Director of the Stronach Foundation. Frank has an eye for talent. The success of the event was all the evidence he needed to ask Kerstin to accept a leadership position. Typical of Kerstin, she jumped immediately into the role with the gusto for which she is well known.
Love and the economy.
If you are a Canadian who loves your family, community and country, and if you understand and value the importance of a strong and resilient economy, then JOIN THE COALITION . You will receive periodic newsletters from Frank and his team to notify you of upcoming events and recent Foundation achievements.
Next, ask your friends to JOIN. This is a vital mission for all of us. To transform the economic culture of this country towards embracing the 7 Principles, we need all hands on deck. This is the way to steer Big Ship Canada on a wise and true course.
“If you build it, they will come.”
Like my favourite movie, Field of Dreams, Frank Stronach is building a Coalition of Canadians who wish the restore our country to the Nation of Dreams he discovered as a new immigrant seven decades ago. Frank’s dreams were exceeded beyond even his wildest dreams!
This scene from the film still raises the hairs on my arms when I watch it. James Earl Jones could be imagined as speaking about the economy of earlier times rather than baseball. It was a time when “everything was good” in America and Canada.
If I dream big, perhaps the name of Frank Stronach will become forever fondly remembered as the Father of Economic Rights in Canada.
Now THAT would be some achievement!
Well said, Gene. What a fantastic event that was. . . inspiring. It does feel like the beginning of something important. This is the kind 'Reset' we really need! David
