A PIG in a POEC?
Matt Gurney and Jen Garson two independent Canadian journalists who co-host The Line. They interpret the results of the POEC (Public Order Emergencies Commission) with refreshing perspectives.
The expression: “A pig in a poke” comes to mind concerning POEC.
I don’t trust the POEC. It was supposed to shed some light on the justification for Justin and Chrystia’s decision to invoke the Emergencies Act earlier this year. I’m not buying it.
POEC was quintessential political posturing in my opinion. It was intended to convince the public that the Liberal government is transparent and accountable to its people. However, it featured a parade of well-dressed and privileged PIGs who gave testimony while not under oath and who are tax-paid government officials with biased loyalties. Does anyone really believe that those PIGs would give any testimony that would compromise those higher-ups who write their paycheques? Besides, there were far too many of them who participated in that 6-week farce of a public hearing to effectively cover the whole unseemly “emergency” episode.
Public income gatherers
“PIG”, used in the above paragraph, is short for “public income gatherer”. It refers to people who are employed by taxpayers, paid by taxpayers and who are addicted to OPM (other peoples money = taxes) which they use to buy the ‘loyalty’ of “friends” in high and low places - all “for the greater good”. Please excuse me while I vomit as I try to say those parenthesized words out loud.
“What is happening in Canada?
I trust that professional independent media voices, like those of Matt and Jen, will to do their level best to decipher and interpret all of the oinks, snorts and grunts that passed for PIG testimony. Such testimony should be “interesting” considering that most of them played some role in facilitating and/or enabling a now-infamous episode which produced untold harm.
Even Canada’s international reputation took a beating. “What is happening in Canada” was asked by journalists everywhere. The tone of serious concern was unmistakable as they reported on the Liberal government’s caustic treatment of millions of citizens during the pandemic - all culminating with Trudeau’s invocation of The Emergencies Act.
Indymedia rocks!
Thank goodness for independent media professionals. Without them, we would only get biased POEC coverage from the Liberal-bribed corporate media organizations, if we saw any coverage at all. I certainly appreciate Charter-defending journalists like Matt and Jen who are the heroic “at-risk front-line workers of free speech” in Canada.
So what if ‘Black Face’ Trudeau is publicly criticized! It goes with the job! God forbid that our Prime Minister should have hurt feelings over an off-handed, unflattering remark about his policies made by some stranger in the “public square”.
Justin, take Truman’s advice! Please!!!!
I misread "Black Face Trudeau" as "Black Farce Trudeau".
Enjoying your well written articles Gene!
