Buckets of Consciousness

We are the contents of our own mind. We share those contents through language, but we cannot reside in the mind of another person. Repetition works to convince others of your mind’s value.

Contents of mind.

I categorize all artifacts of consciousness (”articons”) as follows. I will refer to them as FIRST.

Feelings - our emotions cognitively experienced

Ideas - the product of our creativity

Reflections - our memories and how we perceive them

Sensations - mind-body connection

Temptations - urges and impulses

Language is how we give substance to FIRST

Think of the contents of your mind as the “symbols of reality” contained within your mind bucket. FIRST are the categories of articons (artifacts of consciousness) that I have identified to comprise the actual human reality, not the perceived illusion of reality that is observed outside of mind. All creation comes from individual minds and is manifest in the collective, “universal” Mind. Another way to think about this concept is to think of each FIRST articon that has ever been experienced by “beings of consciousness” as the “physical” equivalent of every atom that maniifects the material universe as we perceive it. Yes, this involves trillions upon trillions of elements - physical atoms and metaphysics articons.

The bucket is a metaphor for how I think about individual minds and the collective Mind.

A bucket can only hold so much water at a time. Add no water, the contents don’t change. Add a drop at a time, the contents change slowly as new content gradually replaces old. Add new content by garden hose and content changes rapidly. The original contents spill out of the bucket and flood the surrounding territory. This is how society’s belief systems change over time.

All religions and belief systems are creations of language to produce stories that are human attempts to unravel the mysteries of Creation and Reality. Politics is one of those belief systems which reside in Mind and is continually referenced by individual minds. The strength of conviction that an individual holds for a belief system is directly related to nature and persistence of FIRST articons in their bucket of consciousness.

Repetition breeds familiarity, then inspires acceptance and compliance.

Ben Shapiro is an American lawyer, columnist, author, and conservative political commentator. He co-founded The Daily Wire in 2015 and is podcast host of The Ben Shapiro Show. Ben is also an Orthodox Jew who filters his observations about human society through his religious lens. That lens is backed by a lifetime of reading, ritual, practice (prayer, etcetera), social associations (synagogue) and stories (Bible) all based on the FIRST Articons with the Jewish religion that have shaped and nurtured his faith.

I think of Ben’s mind as a bucket of consciousness that has contained persistent contents of primarily and specifically Jewish FIRST Articons. These have defined his being - his mind - his personal identity.

Faith begins with an idea that sticks in one’s mind through frequent repetition. Like an ‘earworm’, it takes up residence in the mind and remains until it is forgotten or displaced by other more persistent content.

Persistence is determined by emotions.

The love of a mother for her child is an excellent example of persistence. In recent years, the fear of COVID-19 and Global Warming are examples of persistence arrived at by frequent fear-mongering by media organizations and government authorities. These earworms burrow deep inside susceptible minds to take control of their convictions, choices and actions. When these earworms mature to become mindworms, they are difficult to purge, but not impossible.

I have mentioned the book, Psychology of Totalitarianism by Dr. Mattias Desmet who brought the concept of mass formation psychosis to widespread public awareness. To use my analysis, fear-based earworms were introduced to the public as an “end-of-times” threat to humanity. The first was introduced in the guise of “anthropogenic Global Warming” and has persisted as “Climate Change”. The SARS-Cov-2 virus pandemic followed and is hanging around for a “second act”.

Frequent repetition converts these earworms into stubborn mindworms that turn otherwise kind and compassionate people into suspicious and desperate passengers on a sinking Titanic hoarding a seat for themselves on a limited number of lifeboats.

The Script Writers and Directors.

The people who write these stories of impending Armageddon are found in the spheres of public authority and mass influence. The Directors of the supporting narratives and ‘acts of their plays’ are also found within these spheres.

They hold and use the cattle prods that direct the human herd into corrals where they have no choice by to wait for the slaughter.

I hate to be so graphic about this, but most of us have become so immune to unpleasant details that it takes “shock value” to introduce a new earworm to displace others.

I am not kidding!

When I say that “Canada’s #1 problem is Too Much Government based on Too Much Legislation”, I am serious. As a compelling message, however, it lacks shock value. In fact, for most readers, it’s a yawner. Yet I consider its implications to be more serious than either global warming or the last pandemic. 

China’s national government under Xi Jinping has been described as “Communism with Chinese characteristics”. Under Justin Trudeau, Canada is sliding into a kind of “Communism with Canadian characteristics”. This trend will continue unabated until someone can find the right earworm and mechanisms to reach the masses so that an anti-totalization mindworm takes up residence in the minds of all Canadians.

A new group of concerned Canadians appear to understand the nature of this problem and have organized under the name of Civis 4 Reform. It’s a fledgling group but success can be expected when you know the problem to be addressed and how to address it. So far, they appear to be on the right track but concerned Canadians must get involved and know the we have “miles to go before I sleep”.
