Constitutional Law Must Be Respected By All Elected Officials!
We get the government we choose. Do your homework and CHOOSE WISELY.
City Council elections are scheduled for October.
Our democracy must be safeguarded from the slippery slope of further institutionalized discrimination. We can only protect it if we elect representations who will make public policy decisions that respect the Canadian Constitution.
Ron Ashmore is the Ward 6 Councillor in the City of Kawartha Lakes who is currently seeking re-election. This article describes the decisive and principled stand he took in a recent City Council meeting to defend the rights of residents against vaccine discrimination. He invoked the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in so doing.
Make Your Choice Work For You
In the upcoming election, it’s people like Mr. Ashmore who deserve our vote of trust as our elected representatives. Without Ron and principled Councillors like him, there would by no public voice to remind our policy makers of their duty to us. They have a worn obligation to protect all of their constituents from harm and aggression including such harms and aggressions that can arise from our public institutions and elected bodies.
Accountability is a stake.
If citizens want to hold government authorities accountable, the only voice they have within within the inner sanctums of regulatory power is the voice of the politicians who vie for their vote.
To these citizens I say: “Do your homework! Find out where each politician stands on matters that mean the most to you. Your FREEDOM from coercion and discrimination should me at the top of that list”.
