Immigration. What would you do?
In recent days, a few friends called to describe an Immigration plan alleged to be the ideas of two men we know. What I learned is speculation. However, the ideas are still interesting to consider. .
Imagine
You attend a public meeting. A man at the podium says that Canada could reach 100 millions citizens through proactive immigration policies. How would you react?
“Why” you might ask?
The speaker cites growing problems in Europe which may prompt as many as 60 million citizens to emigrate. The rapidly shifting political cultures of many European countries are replacing the rule of law, based on long held Judeao-Christian traditions and values, with unacceptable beliefs that have infiltrated into the political realm in recent decades. Tensions have grown steadily within their populations and are reaching crisis levels.
This interview with Tommy Robinson and Dr. Jordan Peterson may shed some light on those tensions.
Canada, the “safe haven”.
The first words of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms are: “Whereas Canada is founded on principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law”. The speaker reads these words and suggests that Canadian Immigration officials should broadcast this fact to as many of the 60 million disgruntled Europeans as possible. Canada, he declares, is perhaps the best destination in the world for any European who may be shopping for a new home in a country that operates under these Judeao-Christian principles.
Do you agree with him and his immigration vision for Canada?
A fund-raiser.
The speaker says he wants to raise $25 million to establish and finance a national organization which will lobby the federal government to adopt this Immigration proposal. The organization will build a coalition of Canadians who support the idea and, hopefully, will become a sizeable lobbying community. Special interest groups, such as labour unions, are well known for winning preferential treatment from governments for their members because of the size of their memberships and they significants revenues they generate to support lobbying efforts. The speaker evidently sees this organized labour model as a winning formula for his immigration proposal.
Would you donate to this fundraising campaign?
Government aid
The speaker reveals additional plans to register his national organization as a federal charity so that it would qualify for tax breaks and government subsidies. This is a common practice for many NGOs (non-governmental organizations) which exist to lobby governments for biased and self-serving policies. All ‘climate change crisis’ NGOs operate this way, for example.
Would you approve such preferential treatment by governments for this Immigration cause?
Immigration - a hot potato.
Immigration has been a hot political topic in the USA, Canada and Europe for some time.
The above scenario may be speculative at the present time, but elections are on the horizon. Political elites in those countries seem determined to keep the doors open to millions more immigrants than their electorate may want.
The ideas presented by our hypothetical speaker could easily be used to rally politicians. I can certainly imagine a similar narrative for an ambitious plan to turn Canada into an attractive Judeao-Christan “safe haven” for like-minded immigrants.
Let’s see where this goes.
I want a 5 year moratorium on ALL immigration and immediate deportation of all over stayed visas. Start at zero and take it from there.
