Informed Consent

Informed consent has been supplanted by coerced compliance to mandates.

The American Medical Association describe Informed Consent in the context of the relationship between physician and patient as:

“Informed consent to medical treatment is fundamental in both ethics and law. Patients have the right to receive information and ask questions about recommended treatments so that they can make well-considered decisions about care. Successful communication in the patient-physician relationship fosters trust and supports shared decision making.”

The Nuremberg trials of 1949 conducted many interviews with WW2 war crimes perpetrators. It concluded with an international agreement which defined a code of conduct that forbids experimentation on human subjects without first acquiring the informed consent of the subject.

The World Economic Forum (WEF) has stated clearly that they believe the two greatest threats to humanity to be Climate Change and pandemics. Their solutions to these crises are political and based on the deployment of modern digital technologies and a new version of science. Coined “The Science” by Dr. Anthony Fauci, The Science is 1/tenth actual scientific research and 9/tenths political science. Since The Science was first announced, everyone is now expected to accept the proclamations and prescriptions issued by its high priests without question. Informed consent has been replaced by coerced compliance to mandates.

How did we get here?

The majority of Canadians chose it! They did not, and still do not, exercise informed consent in their political choices. Consequently, Canadian voters have elected charlatans with familiar family names whose beliefs and intentions were poorly understood during elections by the electorate. Only later did everyone learn that they had chosen wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Take Justin Trudeau, for example. He first got elected on his “sunny days, sunny ways” campaign in 2016. Who could ever have imagined that he had it within his character to lock down an entire country, treat desperate yet peaceful truckers as terrorists, and invoke The Emergencies Act for a completely legal act of civil disobedience?

There is no mistaking the truth. Informed consent was MIA in the elections that empowered Trudeau, … Jagmeet Singh… Chrystia Freeland…. and Doug Ford … and Kathleen Wynne … etc. The majority of our electors were not well informed. They did not do their homework. And with their ill-informed election choices, we have all paid the price with higher taxes, crazy levels of public debt, punishing inflation and the steady erosion of our freedoms by regulatory fiat (aka “red tape”).

What’s that answer to the mess we created?

Informed consent! It works in politics as well as medicine!

Canadians must never again elect a political candidate who is a representative of a major “statist” political party like the Liberals, NDP, Green, BQ and to a lesser extent, the Conservatives. They comprise the Canadian Political Power Cabal which has been steadily increasing the size, cost and scope of authority of governments. The consequences to the Canadian economy, culture and social fabric are clearly and painfully evident to all freedom lovers.

If you do choose to vote for a Conservative, make sure he or she aligns with the Libertarian wing of the Conservative community.  They include people like Maxime Bernier, Pierre Poilievre, Jaime Schmale, Danielle Smith in Alberta and a few more.

The best choice, however, is to vote for any political candidate who will seriously advocate for much Less Government. Here’s why.

• Too many Canadians have outsourced their decision-making on public and economic matters to strangers in Ottawa and Queens Park. The best person to make decisions for you is YOU. Stop voting to become more dependent on politicians and public officials who know absolutely nothing about you. To them, you are just a statistic among millions of statistics, or else you are just another data point acquired from a recent survey.

• If you always vote “strategically” in order to eliminate someone you don’t like, you will never get the kind of government that YOU actually want. I, for example, want much Less Government so I have voted mainly for Libertarians since 2007. I consider any other vote to be an unacceptable compromise because it would never expressly state what is truly most important to me as a tax-paying citizen.

I have just completed writing my first book - an eBook. It’s called “What to do about Climate Change - A Libertarian proposal”. The proposal is fully compatible with both Charters of Rights and Freedoms, the Canadian one and the Ontario version which I wrote. The proposal is a free market, free choice alternative to the federal monopoly that Ottawa runs which I call the Climate Change Government Complex.

If we all do this simple thing, we can start a movement across Canada just as the Truckers did. By declaring yourself to be a Less Government Advocate, you serve notice to your fellow citizens that you do not want an authoritarian government led by statist political leaders to interfere excessively with your life. As a Less Government Advocate, you are stating clearly that you trust your Individual Freedom and Personal Responsibility far more than you trust the privileged political class who are forever seeking to manage all of your choices and personal affairs.

Become a card carrying Less Government Advocate today and begin voting that way every time you enter a ballot box!
