Message to Epoch Times and C.D.Howe Institute
Toronto-based journalist, Andre Chen and C.D. Howe fellow, Glen Hodgson both wrote recent articles to suggest changes to Canada’s Climate Change policies. I have some suggestions of my own….
LETTER to Glen Hodgson ( I sent a similar letter to Andrew Chen)
Does the C.D. Howe accept policy suggestions from average Canadians?
Please consider the policy ideas and innovative proposal called The Bigfoot Show in ‘What to do about Climate Change - A Libertarian Proposal’. It was published in March 2023 as a Kindle eBook on Amazon.
Bigfoot will satisfy everyone.
The Bigfoot Show will serve the interests of Climate Crisis alarmists, skeptics and agnostics. It is fair and respectful of every citizen. It was conceived in accordance with the democratic principle of Freedom of Informed Choice (AKA ‘informed consent’).
Bigfoot will entertain, educate and engage Canadians in support of projects that will reduce GHG emissions in Canadian industries while helping those companies to improve their productivity and market competitiveness. The benefits to business owners and their employees are obvious.
Bigfoot is also an idea that has the potential to “go global” and establish Canada as a leader in Climate Change innovation. It addresses GHG emissions one site at a time in a dedicated and focused manner. Each project will employ Canadian human and financial capital without the need of government involvement. All projects will be transparent to the public, accountable to the investors and vehicles to entertain, inform, educate and engage people at a level well beyond any alleged merits of paying carbon taxes for the same purpose.
Two Parts in the book.
The first three chapters present the core Bigfoot proposal and its rationale. The last seven chapters offer a range of political, economic, psychological and sociological perspectives that encourage the reader to see Climate Action and the Climate Change Governmental Complex (CCGC) in broader contexts. I also introduce the Life Lens concept in juxtaposition to the collectivist notion of ‘the greater good’.
I hope you read my book and consider addressing the Climate Change topic in a way that reflects the Canadian economy as a nation of millions of individual ‘economic actors’ rather than a nation of citizens who depend solely on “one size fits all” government central planning and institutionalized policy enforcement.
The book cover is shown below. Feel free to call me if this topic interests you.
