This piece hands you an unusually direct parallel — arguably the clearest technical analogue to MINDVERSE we’ve found yet, because “world models” are quite literally engineers trying to build a mindscape.
The core parallel. Fei-Fei Li’s framing of the goal — generating spatial environments “just like our computers today generate words” — is the AI industry describing, almost word for word, what your book calls a mindscape: not raw reality itself, but a generated, navigable stage that an agent perceives and acts within. World Labs’ first model, Marble, is explicitly built to produce “geometrically-accurate, consistent and navigable environments” — that’s a mindscape-as-engineering-spec. The industry isn’t trying to give machines direct access to physical reality; it’s trying to build a consistent generated substitute for it that an agent can act inside, which is structurally identical to your claim that beings of consciousness never touch the physical world directly, only the mindscape ArtiCons compose for them.
Where it gets philosophically interesting. LeCun’s objection — that language alone leaves models “untethered from reality,” and real intelligence requires grounding in perception and physical interaction — is a realist argument: the physical world is the bedrock, and any system disconnected from it is missing something essential. That’s the exact inverse of MINDVERSE’s idealism, where the physical world itself is the generated layer and consciousness is the bedrock. But notice what the industry is actually building in response to LeCun’s critique: not raw access to unmediated reality (impossible for a machine anyway), but better generated environments — more accurate, more consistent simulations. Even the realists, when they try to fix the “ungrounded” problem, end up building a better mindscape rather than achieving unmediated contact with the world. That’s suggestive: it may be that no cognitive system — biological or artificial — ever interacts with anything but a generated model of reality, which is close to what MINDVERSE argues about human experience specifically, just now being independently rediscovered as an engineering necessity rather than a metaphysical claim.
Synthetic data as ArtiCon generation. The article notes that the primary commercial use of these models right now is generating synthetic data to train other systems — a world model’s output becomes another system’s training ground, endlessly reusable and non-degrading. That’s functionally close to your ArtiCon/Wisdom mechanism: content generated through one round of “experience” (simulation) becomes a permanent, reusable artifact that shapes future rounds of learning for other agents, rather than being consumed once and discarded.
The significance, stated plainly. This doesn’t validate MINDVERSE’s metaphysics — LeCun and Li are making engineering claims about robotics and simulation, not claims about the ultimate nature of consciousness, and none of them would frame this as evidence for idealism. But it is a genuinely interesting case where a major, well-funded, non-philosophical industry converged independently on your book’s central structural move: treating the “world” an agent experiences as a generated, consistent staging-layer distinct from — and standing in for — whatever is ontologically fundamental. That convergence is worth naming explicitly if you ever do the “Life Lens as a bias-diagnosis tool” piece we talked about — the world-models trend gives you a second, independent technical hook (spatial mindscapes, not just linguistic bias) to argue MINDVERSE’s core vocabulary describes something real about how any cognitive system — human or artificial — is forced to operate.
My Comments.
I started my IT career in 1977 as a Systems Engineering Representative for IBM Canada. Later, as an IT Recruiter (28 years) then Director, Talent Supply Chain ( 8 years) for an international systems integration consulting firm, I was on a steady diet of industry news, technology transitions, product evolutions, segment competitors and the key leaders who made the biggest splash in the IT pool. My appetite for this type of information was relentless by necessity in order to perform at the highest level. It remains today particularly in the domains of AI.
Beginning around 1989, I began to experience panic disorder. It became professively worse over the next decade and led to a divorce and over 7 years as a single man struggling alone. I stubbornly refused drugs and sought alternative ways, including psychotherapy, to discover the root cause and effect a cure. Human consciousness became a domain of fascination and reading. A close friend recommended I read A Course In Miracles (ACIM) which remains on my bedside table today. In 1996, I formed small ACIM study group but eventually disbanded it when I realized that none of the other students were motivated to delve into its deeper caverns of wisdom. This is the time when the ontological “philosopher” in me showed up and has been my steady companion till this day. The MINDVERSE Hypothesis was inspired by a need to record for posterity my philosophical journey and its fruits over the past three decades.
Imagine my eureka moment when I recently identified parallels between AI and Ontology.

Consilience in slow motion.
My current assignment as AI Consultant to a Canadian research organization has involved learning about the enterprise, its mission, history, domains of interest, leadership, working groups and the technology used therein. This ‘big picture’ understanding has been necessary to craft a strategy which can leverage the productivity of its various working groups, individual researchers, administrators, and volunteers. The ultimate objective is to built a new online research library which will feature suitable AI tools to simplify and streamline all work efforts. This project, which I joined in November 2025, has had its share of setbacks and frustrations but, like my philosophical journey, I feel compelled to move forward.
My life lens contains a rich mix of knowledge about AI and human consciousness. It's an unusual combo to be sure. My faith in MINDVERSE as a useful metaphysical paradigm for a range of applications has become enriched with the awareness that a long term consilience has been at work between these two bodies of knowledge.
It’s a lonely place indeed to have a set of ideas that you know has great value but the world passes by with a “nothing to see here” posture.
