‘Pest Control’ Trump style.
When lax immigration standards are allowed, a few rats can be seen among human beings on board ships that carry them away from the violence, discrimination and poverty in their home countries.
Legalized bias.
“Under President Bukele, human rights, democratic norms, and the rule of law have all but disappeared in El Salvador,” Human Rights First senior counsel Amanda Strayer said in a statement.
This statement offends my sense of Justice. It completely ignores the violations of human rights, democratic norms and rule of law committed by the terrorists who have been sent to El Salvador from the USA under Trump’s plan to “eradicate all terrorist groups in America”.
Is Amanda Strayer an American patriot, or is she swayed by money to support the rights of terrorists over law-abiding American families?
An existential moment.
A longtime friend of mine is an Employment lawyer. In the 1990s, he wrestled with a “crisis of conscience” over the decision to continue practicing law. He described it as a “win-lose” profession in which incentives are not always aligned with achieving justice. A spiritual and deeply philosophical man, he understood that every person charged with a crime deserves the best legal counsel he or she can afford. That is a good concept in theory, but the reality is quite different.
The wealthy and the powerful can “afford” much better legal aid than average citizens.
The scales of justice are often tilted, sometimes beyond any recognition of “justice being served”.
Gender preferences.
A local girl is starting university in the Fall. As someone who dislikes STEM academic studies, she has focussed in the Humanities with the goal of studying law. Her professed interest is Family Law which is one of two streams of law - the other being Human Rights- that generally attract female layers proportionately higher than other streams.
Grok reports:
Exact figures on the percentage of human rights lawyers who are women are hard to pin down globally, as data varies by region and isn’t always comprehensively tracked. However, in the broader legal profession, women make up about 39% of lawyers in the U.S. as of 2023, with higher representation in public sector roles like human rights law, where estimates suggest women could comprise 50-60% or more in some contexts, especially in international human rights organizations. Anecdotally, women are often noted as being disproportionately active in human rights advocacy due to its focus on social justice.
United States: Women make up about 39% of all lawyers, but in family law (including divorce), the proportion is higher, with estimates suggesting around 70-75% of family lawyers are women, per surveys like one from Resolution (2020). This is likely due to social factors drawing women to roles involving family dynamics and caregiving issues.
Rubio Says 10 More Alleged Criminal Gang Members Deported to El Salvador

The opening paragraph of this post was extracted from the linked article from The Epoch Times. Aldgra Fredly was the author. If a man had written the article, would the statement by Amanda Strayer have been included? Is Ms. Fredly also sympathetic to the human rights of deported terrorists who have likely committed many crimes of violence and theft against innocent Americans?
A wise choice.
I approve of Trump’s decision to negotiate an arrangement with El Salvador to rid America of vermin like terrorists.
“These barbarians are now in the sole custody of El Salvador, a proud and sovereign Nation, and their future is up to President [Bukele] and his Government. They will never threaten or menace our Citizens again,“ Trump stated in a social media post.
