Post-Apocalyptic Warlord Potential
Cousin Rick in Arizona alerted me to this concept. When dating, young women will add this quality to their perfect future husband to ensure survival of her family after a world-wide Armageddon event.
I Get It!
Why wouldn’t a young lady want to marry a man who has all the qualities of Keanu Reeves, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, Sylvester Stallone, Harrison Ford, Jackie Chan, and Arnold Schwarzenegger - all rolled into one and in their prime❓
Elon Musk believes the post-apocalyptic ward lord potential is important in dating circles. Young men would be wise to pay attention.
With more nuclear weapons than bagels in a bagel shop, more green-haired ladies counting those scary invisible CO2 molecules, and with all the popular heat coming from enough anti-Trump sentiment to ignite a nation-wide forest fire, evidence of humanity’s pending doom is high. Right?
The good news, however, like cockroaches, some on the human species will survive. Men with action-hero qualities will be a lady’s dream mate along with a healthy dose of consideration and romance. Harlequin Romance writers may want to pick up on this idea to serve this overlooked market.
Who will survive?
Will men like Justin Trudeau, Jagmeet Singh, and Mark Carney be your best bet on who is most likely to survive Armageddon?
Don’t count them out. Their ability to slither successfully through the corridors of power during the good times may suggest that slithering is a valuable survival skill. After all, slithering away from danger is a time-tested survival tactic as all slithering species could attest - if only they could talk 🥴.
Given this consideration, will the ladies of today continue to prefer potential mates who are wealthy and handsome, with leadership qualities on display in political, corporate, legal, and other professions? Or…
Will the practical, hands-on and resourceful men who are not portrayed in those Harlequin Romance novels begin their ascension to levels of popularity exceeding those that qualified Justin Trudeau as the poster boy of Canadian popularity in 2016?
As times change, so do cultures.
In the 1930s through early 1950s, televisions appeared in every home, a “good man” was characterized as dependable, with a steady job, loyal to his wife and family, and held the respect in his fellow community members for pitching in selflessly when called upon.
After television, if a man smoked Lucky Strikes, drove a Cadillac, could shake like Elvis Presley on the dance floor, and looked remotely like James Dean, he was “in like Flint”. Those were the 1950 and 60s.
When the Beatles arrived, teen magazines and posters popped up everywhere to stoke the dreams of young girls and telegraph to young men how to look and behave.
After Woodstock, I began to loose track of the dating cultural signals when career interests began to take centre stage in my daily concerns.
Today, in 2025, I am the last person that young people should ask about dating advice. But hey, My Life Lens is all about what I personally perceive in my little corner of reality. Also, I doubt that anyone under age 45 is reading this post.
Thanks Gene passed on to my daughter
No Armageddon ! Humanity is moving away from war !
