Reddington’s visit.
Our cat, Reddington, is a three year-old Siberian Forest Cat who is full of character, chirps instead of meows, and is affectionate much like a dog. Most nights in the early morning, he visits ….
My still form rests in Egyptian cotton
Dreams float in the cool morning night
A restless foot beats eagerly
Awaiting the first daylight.
Familiar steps of white fur paws
Transverse my comply form
From foot to hip to shoulder
Then Red plops as is his norm.
A gentle purr is his tell
Content to spend some time
He nuzzles his nose into my palm
A furry hug tugs on my arm.
We commune in repose, Red and I,
Our dreams align, rapt
In tales of mice and catnip,
And four-paw romps, and naps.
Our day begins ‘round seven,
An alarm rings nearby,
Red lifts his sleepy head,
Then launches in his mighty goodbye.
Four paws are heard receding
Racing to a place unknown
One thing’s for sure about Reddington
He certainly knows his home.

Cute! You are a poet
And I didn't know it.
We have two loveable black cats Taco and Rolo and they have never been exposed to dogs but are enjoying cat life in our absence with their furry friends of the family staying at our place while we are away. They are very adaptable and although they are senior boys (14 ) from the same litter, they still act very young and are extremely playful. Miss them terribly, but know they are in capable hands. Thanks for sharing your story! It was a good mood lifter.
