What can we expect from “the New Normal”

It’s March 29, 2022, and most of the pandemic is beginning to fade into the past. I wonder how is will be seen in the rear view mirror of history.

      Earlier this week, the linked article prompted me to reflect on my own experience over the past two years as I tried to make sense of the pandemic. Like everyone else (I suspect), I am certainly not the same person today as I was in 2019.

      As you read this, you will notice that I always add an * to the word ‘vaccine’. I don’t believe that any of the current Covid drugs conform to the pre-2020 definition of ‘vaccine’, nor do they meet the “safe and effective” standards that are expected of our traditional vaccines. These ‘new tech’ Covid vaccines* have yet to be subjected to the rigorous testing and performance standards that all drugs have historically had to pass before widespread use in society.

      Consider the case of the Pfizer vaccine*. The FDA granted it Emergency Use Authorization only on the first 2 months of the data that was collected during the first 6 months of Pfizer’s Stage 3 clinical trial.  The trial was abruptly terminated as soon as the EUA was granted. If  Stage 3 had continued for the usual 3+ years, the long term vaccine* risks would likely have been known before anyone would have been harmed in the manner described in the article.

      I have often wondered how many people (of all ages and both sexes) have suffered some degree of post-jab heart harm that has not yet been reported. Heart specialists know that even a little damage to heart tissue can carry consequences which may not appear as symptoms until years later. Continued Stage 3 clinical testing would have eventually revealed such risks over time. These risks are life-saving information which must be available to every vaccine* recipient as part of a proper “informed consent” pre-jab protocol.

     I consider it unforgivable that America’s FDA and Health Canada, our respective public health protectors, granted EUA approval for widespread use of these experimental drugs without the successful completion of all required testing.  At the very least, these authorities should have insisted that rigorous Stage 3 clinical testing continue for a minimum of 3 years and preferably much longer.

      When these vaccines* were first available under EUA, I recall thinking it wise to wait until the long term safety and efficacy data would be available. When I learned that the Pfizer Stage 3 trials had ended prematurely and that no long term data would be reported by Pfizer or the FDA, I was dumbfounded. How could our public health protectors allow this to happen?

      Concerned by this news, I began looking for other sources of information. At first, my best alternative seemed to be the CDC’s VAERS database. It wasn’t long, however, before the alarming VAERS reports on vaccine* adverse events were characterized by public health authorities as unreliable and not to be trusted.

     Next, I discovered many credible alternative media sources that began reporting declines in vaccine* efficacy and concerning stories of people suffering from vaccine* adverse events.  Their reports were also discredited by the ‘approved’, ‘official’ sources who claimed them to be fake news and products of conspiracy theories.

       The fact that I have been frustrated by all of the above is an understatement. Clearly, wherever I turned to seek credible information about the Covid-19 illness, risks and treatments (including the vaccines*), I met resistance that stymied my efforts. Even safe and effective alternative treatments were attacked with misinformation and disinformation from the official sources;  many were restricted or made unavailable by the authorities. The only products that were promoted and made readily available were mask and the expensive ‘on patent’ drugs from major Pharma companies.

      Needless to say, my trust in government and media reports dropped rapidly and has never recovered. The government reactions to, and corporate media coverage of,  the Truckers For Freedom 2022 peaceful protest solidified by distrust and my growing concern for Canadian democracy. The “power grab” that we have witnessed and endured is something that I did not believe possible prior to 2020.

     “Never let a crisis go to waste” is the phrase that echoes in my head as I frequently fret about how much Individual Freedom and Personal Responsibility has been wrest from our citizens under the “emergency measures” undertaken by elected governments.

      History shows that gains in power are rarely relinquished by the politicians class and top public officials. Early in the pandemic, Trudeau and other national leaders spoke of the Covid crisis as an opportunity to “build back better” under a “one world order”. When they predicted a post-pandemic “new normal”,  I was certainly less sure than I am now about who would architect that predicted future.
