The FDA's War Against Sleep

I knew nothing about gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) 🥺

AMD continues to reveal the sleight-of-hand actions of the FDA, and likely its Canadian counterpart Health Canada, to withhold treatments that could save lives, reduce health costs, and go a long way towards addressing the chronic disease epidemic in North America.

Sleep is as crucial

The good doctor reminds is that great health depends of lifestyle choices such as eating nutritious food, getting regular exercise, practicing stress management and setting consistent daily routines for a sound night’s sleep.

Many interesting points concerning sleep, and the economy that surrounds it, are made in AMD’s Substack.

• Despite a $65 billion annual market for sleep aids in the U.S. and a $432 billion global "sleep economy," 50-70 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders. The pandemic worsened sleep for over half of Americans in 2020, and 76% admitted to buying sleep aids.

• The problem lies in the nature of most sleeping pills: they are sedatives, not sleep aids. They sedate the brain, impairing its ability to initiate restorative sleep, leaving users tired and at risk for health issues. Studies have shown that sleeping pill users are significantly more likely to die early and develop cancer.

• While most sleeping medications are unsafe and ineffective, one drug, gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), has shown remarkable results. Developed in 1874, GHB was marketed in Europe as an intravenous anesthetic in 1964. Despite its benefits, it wasn't practical for surgeries but was useful in intensive care due to its unique properties.

• As more scientists (and then members of the public) began exploring the drug, according to Ward Dean MD (who provided extensive references to support his claims), through decades of research, they found a variety of benefits from GHB including:

  __ Dramatically increases growth hormone levels, enhancing strength, stamina, muscle mass, and healing (hence making it very popular with bodybuilders).

  __ Effective in treating addictions, particularly opioids, alcohol, and benzodiazepines.

  __ Temporarily alleviates anxiety without the side effects of benzodiazepines.

I am currently reading The Creature from Jekyll Island: A Second Look at the Federal Reserve by G. Edward Griffin. It is a shocking revelation about the enormous corruption that has taken place since, and enabled by, the Federal Reserve System was created in 1914.

The Fed’s ability to “creature money out of thin air’ has fuelled so many boondoggles between the US Federal Government and its corrupt crony partners in crime throughout the last 110 years as to be unimaginable.

Most of us are familiar with the modern terms for these evil entities that have been legislatively privileged to fleece all citizens who are not among the elites that rake in the proceeds from their scams. Military Industrial Complex, Big Pharma, Big Food, Big Agra, the Medical Industrial Complex and the Climate Change Governmental Complex are just the best known of these money-laundering operations. They systematically enrich “the few” at the expense of the unwitting and helpless masses while pretending to “serve the greater good”.

Bait and switch.

The various segments of our public health economy have promised to help us when something ails us and encourage us to believe that they are the only sources of genuine health. Endless advertising and public awareness campaigns are richly funded to ensure that every citizen turns to public institutions for help before considering market alternatives. Propaganda works very well and funded generously through taxation.

The downside?

Molecules like gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), Ivermectin (IVM), Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and many others would never have been sidelined as inexpensive and effective treatments for many chronic disease conditions if not for Crony-Capitalism, Crony-Statism and Crony-Socialism.

Without cronyism, many excessively-expensive and patented pharmaceuticals would never have been promoted as the only “approved medical protocols” for many health conditions. The consequential and inexorable rise in health care costs are the intended outcome that the elites have planned for decades.

TOO MUCH GOVERNMENT.

If money printing had never been possible to enable national government grow enormously, and to spend recklessly and irresponsibly, what would life have looked like today in the USA and Canada?

In the USA, the current USD $36,000,000,000,000 debt would not be the perennial crisis that threatens the world economy. To understand the severity of this crisis, listen to an excellent conversation between host Tom Woods and guest David Stockman.

The central banking institutions of all western nations operate under the influence and control of the world’s largest money printer, the Federal Reserve System. The FRS has financed government spending so irresponsibly that Cronyism has been solidified is the only form of economics allowed in contemporary nations of the world. As Stockman says, “the chickens are coming home to roost” and there is no avoiding the inevitable catastrophe.

They operate in plain sight.

Corporate and NGO lobbyists feather their nests by exerting various forms of influential activism and graft from outside the walls of public institutions. Meanwhile, powerful public sector labour unions operate from within.

Stock markets, and other large “institutions of trade”, resemble gambling casinos that operate according to “house rules”.

Off-shore tax havens caters only to those who are wealthy and privileged enough to gain access.

Was I an ostrich?

I am embarrassed to say that I lived most of my 73 years as a responsible family man with his shoulder to the grinding wheel of economic life while being completely oblivious to the power games being played all around me.

Could I have changed anything? No?

And it is this profound sense of helplessness that is the worst aspect of this whole ungodly mess..
