Slowly we turn, step by step...
Don’t say “Niagara Falls” around any of the Three Stooges if you know what's good for you.
Death to democracy by a thousand cuts
Death by a thousand cuts is a form of modern torture of ancient Chinese torture which is inflicted by contemporary, entitled government officials on taxpaying victims.
I arrived at this realization after reading the WasteWatch section of the Winter/Spring 2023 edition of The Taxpayer. The Canadian Taxpayer Foundation (CTF) publishes this documents twice per year to keep paid subscribers informed of our Federal government’s misadventures and shenanigans that are responsible to their part in driving up the cost of living and ratcheting down the constitutional freedoms of citizens.
WasteWatch is four pages of stories about taxpayer abuse which should enrage every taxpayer in the same way that the words “Niagara Falls” triggered Larry and Moe of the Three Stooges in this short skit.
It sure triggered a rise in me when I learned that Justin Trudeau paid $6,000 for one night’s stay at a hotel in London to visit the Queen before her passing. Other stories of taxpayer abuse produced a similar reaction.
Some of those stories involved relatively small infractions of wasteful spending, but who knows how often they occur and how large the amounts have been! Each one is a cut to the public body. Each slice contributes to the death of Canadian democracy at the hands of pathologically-entitled “public servants” like Justin Trudeau. In reality, Canadian taxpayers are best described as “public slaves” who are harnessed to the “wheel of fortune” (the Canadian Revenue Agency) to ensure that our elite taskmasters can live in the privileged manner to which they have become accustomed.
Who would have guessed that Curley, Larry and Moe would act out today’s public rage when that skit was filmed in the 1940s?
