How you respond to a crisis reveals your true character.
What did you learn about yourself over the pandemic years?
The following are examples of what some people do in such a crisis. This essay was inspired by a conversation between podcast journalists Trish Woods and Laura Dodsworth, author of A State of Fear published in mid 2021.
It was Episode 59 of the Trish Woods Is Critical podcast. Laura’s book “… exposes the use of behavioural psychologists to scare and control people into compliance during the pandemic. The results, for many, have been traumatic. Dodsworth’s bold reporting broadens the COVID story to include harms caused by those tasked with protecting us.”
Some People …
Some people binge on media news.
Some become paralyzed by fear.
Some pretend that there’s nothing to fear at all.
Some seek safety in a group or “tribe”.
Some capitulate to pressure from family.
Some assign blame to others.
Some act rationally, others less so.
Some people scream and rant uncontrollably.
Some retreat into silence.
Some claim authority.
Some obey the “authorities” without question.
Some rebel against authority with piecing questions.
Some sacrifice themselves for others
Some sacrifice others for themselves.
Some just run and hide in solitude.
Some pray.
Some turn to scripture for answers.
Some negotiate with God for safe passage.
Some accept the inevitable - God’s Will.
Some act heroically.
Some give care and assurances to others.
Some pretend to care and virtue signal at every opportunity.
Some just whimper and cry helplessly.
Some bravely seek answers from “unapproved” sources,
Some analyze and problem-solve against all odds of success.
Some even succeed.
Some learn nothing from a crisis.
And some are forever transformed by it.
