Songs that connect
Poverty Train, sung by Laura Nyro, connects with me in word and feeling during these times when Canada is going to “Hell in a hand basket” under Justin Trudeau.
I awoke to this song playing in my head.
The words and mood of Laura Nyro’s performance of Poverty Train strongly connects with my own feelings these days. I don’t feel much pride or optimism for Canada, especially after listening to a string of speakers at a Freedom Rally held in Peterborough yesterday afternoon. The sins of government are just too many to absorb.
The words “I just saw the devil and he’s smiling at me” makes me think of Justin Trudeau and the smarmy, smirky way that he talks down to us. He has lied unflinchingly about the “sunny days” that he is dealing out to Canadians under his Government. Doug Ford isn’t much better.
Cocaine symbolizes his policies.
The dealer promises us “a good time”. The truth is that what’s he’s selling is slowly sucking the life out of us. When people realize this, “why was I born” hits them with the realization that too many of them made a big mistake in choosing to believe the promises of the dealer.
Poverty is our global destiny, unless…
Canadians can’t continue to believe the lies told to them by the people who control us. “Getting off of the poverty train” means replacing the Trudeau Liberals and Ford Conservatives with a Prosperity Train - one that runs on the energy of Individual Freedom, Personal Responsibility, Fairness and mutual Trust that Maxime Bernier promotes.
President Ronald Reagan advised Americans to “trust, but verify” the claims of political leaders. I recommend the opposite: “verify, then trust only if warranted ”.
Informed consent is the only way
The majority of citizens gullibly vote for leaders who apparently want to round us up and load us all onto the Poverty Train. Those citizens chose our current governments and the “train” over which hordes of bureaucrats preside.
‘Informed consent’ is critical in many areas of modern life, and perhaps especially so in politics.
Our current elections feature political marketing campaigns that teach us nothing about the candidates than what THEY want us to know. The result is electing men like Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister.
Let that sink in for a little while. Then encourage every voter you know to do much more homework before he or she ever enters a ballot box in the future. Tell them this:
INFORMED CONSENT is the only power you have to determine which train you will board for your future travels through life. Use it wisely.
The lyrics of Poverty Train.
Last call for the poverty train
Last call for the poverty train, yeah
It looks good and dirty on shiny light strip
And if you don't get beat you got yourself a trip
You can see the walls roar see your brains on the floor
Become God, become cripple, become funky and split
Why was I born
No, no, no, no
No, no, no, no
No, no, no, no
Oh baby, I just saw the devil and he's smiling at me
I heard my bones cry devil whys it got to be
Devil played with my brother, devil drove my mother
Now all the tears in the gutter are floodin' the sea
Why was I born
No, no, no, no
No, no, no, no
No, no, no, no
Oh baby, it looks good and dirty them shiny lights glow
A million night tramps tricks and tracks will come and go
You're starving today but who care anyway
Baby it feels like I'm dyin
Now I swear there's something better than
Gettin' off on sweet cocaine
It feels so good, it feels so good
Gettin' off the poverty train
Morning
