Substack rocks! Patreon is Big Brother.
An Update to Patreon’s Policies on COVID-19-Related Medical Misinformation Feb. 16, 2023
Starting today, Patreon is updating its community guidelines to address content spreading misinformation on COVID-19.
‘An Update to Patreon’s Policies on COVID-19-Related Medical Misinformation’
This announcement from Patreon is unfortunate for the cause of Free Speech, but great news for Substack and it's subscribers.
Did Patreon executives learn nothing from the pandemic years? Are they really announcing Fact Checkers in 2023? Did the promoters of ESG and DEI regulations successfully penetrate Patreon’s Board of Directors? Is this policy update a copy-paste of the ESG’s standard boilerplate? I guess this can be expected from a company based in California, the centre of woke in America!
I will be interested to see if Patreon’s list of subscribers drops in the coming months as a result of this announcement and the changes it portends.
Substack: A badge of honour and respectability!
I trust and respect people who post on Substack. I don’t agree with every piece of content I see here, but I am not obligated to consume it, am I? Substack’s policies fully respect my Freedom of Informed Choice. The only thing they ask of me is to respect others and be responsible for my own actions. It's a very Libertarian platform.
“I get no respect” on Patreon
Patreon doesn’t show the same degree of respect for it's customers. Is this because it operates within the most litigious nation in the world and its most woke state? America is known for its reputation as a nation of citizens who are quick to issue legal actions against each other. This is a sad feature of life in America. It reveals the degree of disrespect Americans must feel towards one another, and at th expense of each other, while lawyers get rich.
I nominate Rodney Dangerfield as the official spokesman for Patreon and for every other American corporation that has comparable ESG policies.
