The BORG in HKLB
Who are the Blue, Orange, Red and Green candidates in the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock riding? Who are they lobbying to get elected, and why those groups?
Politicians are Vote Lobbyists.
One reason why the political party system is flawed is that it destroys unity between us as citizens who are increasingly under the thumb of government powers.
Recall that governments have just two significant levers of power:
legislative & enforcement (laws, registrations, policies) and
confiscated money (taxes, debt, fees) and targeted spending.
Political party candidates campaign for votes from specific groups in society that are potentially vote-rich.
This form of political lobbying leads to a type of divisive tribalism.
It divides neighbour against neighbour, coworker against coworker, sibling against sibling, male against female, young again old and the fiscal conservative against the spendthrift.
Your “generous” BORG choices.
Did you know that the BORG parties have access to a Magic Money Tree⁉️ No❓ Me neither‼️
According to the fable, once upon a time a delicate little pixy 🧚♀️ blew 🌬️ magical pixie dust onto a small ginkgo tree 🌳 . From that day forth, the little tree grew and grew while shedding endless💰 for hundreds of years. The kind-hearted pixy had hoped the 💵 would be used by honest politicians and public officials “for the greater good”.
Even good intentions can lead to bad outcomes.
The easiest thing in the world for BORG politicians to do is to spend more of YOUR MONEY for partisan and self-serving interests.
Your BIG SPENDERS are:
NDP candidate Barbara Doyle says: “I believe in fighting for the core supports the people in our communities need to live a healthy and prosperous life - excellent public health care and education, a home you can afford, good jobs and supports for the most vulnerable.” ◾️TRANSLATION: she favours more government spending, more government workers ( labour unions love this) and more powerful public institutions. Apparently, the 🌳🧚♀️ MAGIC MONEY TREE is her economic plan to pays for all of here “supports”.
Liberal candidate Alison Benne is new to politics and described herself as “…a long-time community organizer and equality advocate. As a queer woman of colour, equity, justice and inclusion have always been paramount for Alison”. “Two main issues I have great support for are investing in healthcare workers and the infrastructure we need, making healthcare a priority and affordable housing”. ◾️TRANSLATION: Alison believes that more government spending and social justice legislation will make HKLB a better place to live without acknowledging that the money for those aspirations must come from somewhere. Is that 🌳🧚♀️ MAGIC MONEY TREE bottomless? How do individual Freedom of Informed Choice, mutual respect and Personal Responsibility fit into her vision?
Green candidate Tom Regina, is a “Haliburton resident and retired arts educator advocating for affordable housing, healthcare access, and environmental protection with a vision for equity and compassion.” Not stated in his bio is his ardent advocacy for investing in the “Green Economy”. ◾️TRANSLATION: as a former arts educator, his knowledge of Economics is scanty at best. Is knowledge of science and the Climate Change Crisis Theory is also likely to be skin deep. He is not explaining to the public the financing required to achieve his purported aspirations. As a lifelong educator funded by the ‘magic money tree’, my guess is that he believes that governments must use the 🌳🧚♀️ MAGIC MONEY TREE to spend on all manner of “public goods”.
Conservative MPP Laurie Scott. “Laurie has been a tireless advocate for victims of human sex trafficking in Ontario, both inside and outside of the Legislature. She has received national awards for her work on combating human trafficking and child advocacy. She is passionate about encouraging women to get actively involved in public life”. ◾️TRANSLATION: While the high cost of living is the top issue for most HKLB residents and businesses, Laurie fails to address this issue and is AWOL at “all candidates meetings” at which she could speak to the public about it. In addition, Ford has overspent his budget by $billions and Laurie never addresses this concern. Is seems the 🌳🧚♀️ MAGIC MONEY TREE is non-partisan. The party that wins the “keys to the kingdom” is free to spend your money lavishly.
👁️🗨️ Be careful who you vote for‼️
Anti-BORG voices
The other five HKLB candidates are either overtly opposed to giving the BORG more rope to hang innocent Canadians with, or show at least some interest into taking the noose out of the hands of BORG executioners.
Too bad these 5 will remain anonymous thanks to our election system that is designed to make sure all “alternative voices” remain anonymous.
