The Evolution of Democracy, Episode #4 ** Climate Change Madness in Australia**
Hydrogen (H2) gas may eventually become the preferred source of energy sometime in the future. BUT, no one knows if and when this will be technologically and economically feasible.
NSW Government Spends $25 Million on Hydrogen Centre for Renewable Transition
Notable statements from this article:
The NSW government ( New South Wales is an Australian state) has released the design of the state’s first Hydrogen Centre of Excellence.
Taxpayers will contribute $25 million (US$16.5 million) to this project as part of an election commitment.
The state recently legislated net zero by 2050, a 50 percent cut to climate change emissions by 2030, and a 70 percent reduction by 2035.
The new hydrogen centre will train thousands of plumbers and gas fitters to prepare multi-skilled workers for the emerging hydrogen industry.
…the centre will employ 50 staff when operational. It will be owned and operated by the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC). [It is] … a collaboration between government, industry, and unions to build a skilled workforce.
During the construction phase, the centre is expected to employ at least 100 apprentices and create 500 construction jobs.
The NSW Hydrogen Strategy plans to ….. provide $3 billion worth of incentives to support industry development.
Libertarian Member of the Legislative Council John Ruddick said it was possibly the “most useless bill in recent history.”
“This bill further expands the size of government with yet another weighty and duplicated government agency; the Net Zero Commission,” he said at the time of debate on the legislation in late 2023.
Energy Risks of the Bill
Meanwhile, a recent report warned electricity bills in NSW could rise by $1,100 per year to pay for delays in transmission infrastructure upgrades.
Small businesses could face bills of up to $7,716 a year, rising to $24,124 with a seven year delay to the transmission infrastructure build.
“In order to connect the renewable generation and storage capacity required to replace ageing coal-fired power stations and transition to a clean energy power system, Australia needs to effectively plan and deliver thousands of kilometres of transmission lines in the next decade,” the document noted.
Here’s a thought…
Perhaps capitalism is the better way to explore markets for H2 energy demand, whether Australian or Canadian.
Why IMPOSE all of the associated costs and risks on citizens and business owners through taxation, regulations and laws such as Australia’s Climate Change (Net Zero Future) Act 2023?
After all, capitalist entrepreneurs have a long history of taking carefully considered risks with THEIR MONEY and resources.
Politicians, labour union leaders and government bureaucrats have an undeniably poor track record of “investing” OTHER PEOPLE’s MONEY.
The OPT OUT Choice
Wouldn’t it be nice if every Australian citizen was able to OPT OUT of any taxation, regulation or law such as the Climate Change (Net Zero Future) Act 2023?
Digital Direct Democracy offers the OPT OUT solution.
The only citizens who should be taxed, regulated and held legally accountable for boondoggles like this Hydrogen Centre of Excellence are those WHO DO NOT UPDATE their Citizen’s Preferences Database Profile to register their OPT OUT choice.
As the OPT OUT numbers rise, the funding and risks associated with projects like this H2 Centre would fall increasingly on the labour union and its business partners.
The ability to OPT OUT of government schemes for which the citizen did not voluntarily subscribe is FAIR and JUST.
CHOICE is the very essence of Democracy and must be protected and defended.
Freedom of Informed Choice for every citizen.
Individual choice must always prevail over the expensive and poorly considered decisions of politicians and government planners. This is as it should be in any and all civil societies.
RFK Jr. Exposes How Much the Fed Has Robbed from the Middle Class and the Poor
“Inflation, as we all know, is theft ... If you had $1,000 six years ago, that $1000 has a value of $520 today in terms of its capacity to purchase goods and services.”
“The Fed has engineered an uber-efficient money-printing machine to perpetrate the systematic robbery that has gutted the American middle class and decimated America's working poor.”
“Bitcoin is the off-ramp from the inflation highway of doom. If the world were on a Bitcoin standard and our money held its value, we would all have the ability to live more abundant lives. Bitcoiners have it right. Fix the money, fix the world.”
