The Hockey Stick saga continues in court.

Dr. Michael Mann has sued journalist Mark Steyn for libel. He claims irreparable financial, opportunity and reputational losses due to comments published by Steyn some twelve years ago.

Hell Hath No Fury Like The Consequences of a Global Lie. 

The following letter was sent to Council at the City of Kawartha Lakes this morning as part of my ongoing campaign to remind them of the Climate Security deputation I presented to them in November 2023. It is my belief that our elected officials have short memories and will promptly forget the contents and purpose of most deputations unless their concerned constituents sustain efforts to stoke their memory recall. “The squeaky wheel gets the grease” is my operating theory.

Hello Mayor Elmslie and Council Members

Do you feel any sympathy for Dr. Michael Mann, the research scientist and U of Penn State professor who became world famous after publishing his since-discredited Hockey Stick Theory of Climate Change paper years ago? 

Mann has sued journalist Mark Steyn for libel. He claims irreparable financial, opportunity and reputational losses due to comments published by Steyn some twelve years ago. 

The Mann-Steyn court case is ongoing.

The linked podcast offers commentary and actual courtroom dialog of the lawyers involved. While entertaining, it is also informative. 

As you will recall, the Hockey Stick claim was proven to be a lie. Nearly every climate reporter and scientist - not just Mark Steyn - was critical of Mann. Any losses that he suffered were Mann-made (excuse the pun) and well deserved.  

Energy Security is in jeopardy.

I send this message to City Council as a reminder of how the current assault on Energy Security all began.

The Hockey Stick saga, the sensational An Inconvenient Truth Movie, the Climategate emails scandal, and the dozens of failed predictions of catastrophic outcomes from burning fossil fuels - these have all compounded to discredit the Climate Charge Crisis narratives, taxes, regulations and persistent fearmongering. 

Yet, the fact that our elected representative stubbornly ignore the evidence makes this the #1 head scratcher of our era. 

I have heard many conspiracy theories about why the Climate Change Governmental Complex continues to grow in spite of the enormous cost and sacrifice to our citizens and business operators. The sad truth is that most conspiracy theories have a better track record of eventually proving true than all of catastrophic Climate Change predictions made since the first airing of An Inconvenient Truth in which Al Gore shamefully displayed the Mann’s Hockey Stick graph.  That film sent millions of people into spasms of fear which have yet to fully subside. 

‘Mental health be damned’

The goal to inject widespread fear into national populations must have been a pre-meditated decision made by the backers and makers of An Inconvenient Truth. For Al Gore’s starring role, any guilt he may have felt has surely been well compensated. He has since amassed great wealth from the carbon credits scheme in which he invested and helped to promote. 

Al Gore is not a climate scientist.  

His Wikipedia profile shows no evidence of academic training or work experience in any fields of science must less in climate science.

The infamous “Climate Hysteria” cheerleader Greta Thunberg had not even completed highschool at the height of her fame. Some observers believed that she suffered mental health issues from the very same propaganda she promoted! Where were her parents to protect her?

Both of these imposters enjoyed massive public attention, but when I asked Councillor Warren to join me in a public discussion about Energy Security policies in the City of Kawartha Lakes, she rejected the invitation because “neither one of us is a climate scientist”. 

Apparently it's ok for imposters like Gore and Thunberg to share the global stage and spread messages of fear, but a tax-funded elected representative like Councillor Warren believes it inappropriate to publicly discuss her duty to address Energy Security - a policy topic that affects all CKL residents.

This double standard is also a head-scratcher. 

I wonder.

What accounts for the ongoing support for anti-Energy Security policies by so many contemporary elected politicians and responsible public officials?

Does anyone have a good theory - conspiracy or fact-based? It’s about time to end the head-scratching, don’t you agree?
