The price of renewables.
“Pride goes before a fall” is a wise and well-known idiom. Hubris is a common character flaw in men and women who wield too much power which has “gone to their heads”. Carney’s hubris is notorious.
Europe’s Renewables Grid Upgrade Has a Multitrillion-Dollar Price Tag
The Epoch Times article with the above title spells out the price that taxpayers must pay for a Net-Zero Green Economy. EU member states are paying that price now.
How much is paid by the Net-Zero central planners❓Zero‼️. They rely on OPM (Other People’s Money) 😳.
The article begins…
Europe’s ambition to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 hinges on ramping up solar and wind power, potentially tripling the amount of electricity crackling through the power grid.
Its grid, however, is a network built for steady, centralized coal-fired power. Turning this into one capable of managing vast, intermittent flows is the biggest engineering challenge since its inception.
And the potential costs of that infrastructure upgrade, without including the price tag of the solar arrays and wind farms, are increasingly being laid bare.
Recent estimates put total costs for upgrading transmission lines across continental Europe at between 2 trillion euros and 3 trillion euros ($2.2 trillion–$3.3 trillion) by mid-century.
Another idiom:
“The easiest thing in the world for a central planner (or politician) to do is to spend other people’s money”.
I refer to this character flaw as their ‘OPM addiction’ which is the basis for their hubris.
Mark Carney’s Plan?
Relating to the size of Germany, Canada is huge.
👁️🗨️ What will be the price that Canadians will pay when our new ‘Mister Net-Zero’ Prime Minister suggests an infrastructure upgrade to the transmission lines coast-to-coast across this nation❓
👁️🗨️ How many Canadian jobs will be created by this Net-Zero upgrade project❓
👁️🗨️ Will their wages and employment benefits all be taxpayer funded❓Is this what Green advocates mean when they claim thousands of new Green jobs for Canadians⁉️
👁️🗨️ Will the source of this funding be more public debt financing, higher taxes, or both❓
👁️🗨️ With such an expensive undertaking, how much money will be siphoned from other government budgets such as Health Care, National Defence, Immigration, and more❓
If Mark Carney has a Net-Zero plan, let’s hear it‼️
Carney built his reputation as a strong Net-Zero advocate who developed financial schemes to achieve this goal. This is a well known fact.
Like most central planners, their strategies are always “big picture”. BUT, the devil, who is always found in the details, is rarely considered. Germany and England are in the process of learning that lesson the hard way 😳.
Mark Carney has lived his life in the clouds with his feet rarely touching ground. Yes, he can put on a hard hat and orange safety vest, but that doesn’t mean that he has any clue about what it takes to carry out massive energy infrastructure projects 🤓.
Meanwhile, trillions upon trillions of invisible CO2 molecules have been laughing their little asses off as they have observed this little man full of hubris announce his Net-Zero schemes to a gullible public in the EU.
Will they be laughing even harder when he announces his Net-Zero plans for Canada?
What's interesting, Carney who use to run Brookfield, started pulling the company out of Renewable energies, why, because they were losing money!!
I have no sympathy any more for Canadians. We had an opportunity to rid ourselves of this Liberal govt, but the 50 something crowd voted them back in!! And at the same token sold out the future of this country. The debt the youth of this country will inherit, there will be no shovel big enough to dig there way out!!!! And Carney's only getting started!
There are currently only two kinds of energy in Canada and the world. RELIABLES and UNRELIABLES. I have to believe a lot of people are making a lot of money pretending they do not understand this. All wrapped up in the cloak of caring for nature and THE GREATER GOOD, of course!
