This Caught My Attention!
Junk food, lack of exercise and poor sleep habits are likely the root causes for 27 million American children suffering from at least one chronic illness.

Today American children are more sick than ever. Doctors are calling this an epidemic of chronic disease. And parents are stuck figuring out what went wrong. Much of our modern healthcare is focused on stopping the symptoms. But could doctors and parents be overlooking the most basic foundation of health?
44.5 percent of school aged children suffer from at least one chronic health problem. That’s according to a 2018 National Survey of Children’s Health.
These children are suffering from asthma, food allergies, diabetes, seizures. They could be on the spectrum, have ADHD or depression.
Every grocery store has at least one isle packed with processed foods
Many Fortune 500 mega-corporations manufacture foods that may be profitable for their shareholders but are slowly killing their customers. But don’t blame the corporations or the shareholders! Blame the customers who buy their products!
Caveat emptor is a core principle in every democracy. Customers determine the success and failure of food products. Critical thinking about what is good for us and our children is not as common as it needs to be in order to sustain a healthy population.
Modern medical professionals push pharmaceuticals for treatments
Doctors are trained to treat diseases with drugs. When has your physician provided a prescription for buying naturals foods at the grocery store and at least three hours per week of vigorous exercise? Parents accept drug prescriptions as the right thing to do for their chronically ill kids rather than knowing their children well enough to consider modifying their diet and exercise habits. Worse still, if the diet and exercise habits of the parents are poor, the children will think these the norm.
Corporate advertising is partly the culprit
Effective advertising of unhealthy products has contributed to the national health crises of obesity, chronic diseases, susceptibility to virus infections, and more. The human immune system is an evolutionary miracle that we take for granted at great cost to ourselves and those under our care. A good diet of natural foods, regular exercise, a healthy sleep regimen and reducing stress whenever possible is a formula for living that will benefit everyone. Every consumer would do well to adopt a high degree of skepticism for all corporate advertising. “Distrust, then investigate” is my motto these days when considering consumer purchases.
