This song touches me.
Jack Bruce is one of my all time favourite artists. I read his life story and wish I could have known him. There are many YouTube recordings of his performances with Cream and as a solo artist.
Folk Song.
Lyrics.
How will I find you, my dear old friend,
In the darkness of day?
I will look in glass forests
Where electric fish play.
How will I see you when I find you
In the brightness of light?
I will see you in the darkness
That people call night.
How will I know you when I see you
In the bareness of spring?
I will know you by starlight
Where the road's echoes sing.
How will I know you when I think of you
In the greyness of mist?
I will miss you forever
Where sadness has kissed.
(chorus)
Walking by the sea,
See the names floating by,
Trying to find each other's
Trails in the sky.
Walking by the sea …
Ghosts of my past
This song touches feelings of longing to see friends who have long since passed from my life. Some died too soon.
I write this in the memory of special friends who died too young and with whom I wish I could spend a little more quality time. Their year of passing is in brackets where known.

Jack Bruce (2014)
Though I never met Jack, he left behind many songs and music that I cherish. They have satisfied me more often than I can count and help to salve that longing.
I wonder …
How will others remember me when I’m gone? Will some leaf through family? Will others read my many Substack posts, Kindle eBooks or my philosophy paper - The MINDVERSE Hypothesis? Will someone organize a good old-fashioned wake with drinks and story-telling?
Dorothy’s way.
My mother-in-law held a celebration of life event recently to say goodbye to many family members and friends who have touched her life over 93 years.
Dorothy planned it, orchestrated it from start to finish, and is now satisfied that she has “tied a bow” on the wonderful life she has had before cancer takes her away from us.
