What are politigenic policies?
When governments screw up, the devastation can be monumental. Sometimes they make rules and declare mandates that produce vast social and economic harms, yet no one gets fired!
Medicine has a name…
Health conditions that result from errors made by physicians are classified as “iatrogenic”. (etymology: Greek iātro-, combining form of iātrós "physician, healer").
Likewise, societal and economic harms from errors made by politicians and pubic officials can be classified as “politicogenic”. This term was coined in 2017 by retired German Climatologist Dr. Werner Kirstein when he took to “blasting the politicization of climate science and taking issue on how data are (mis)handled and deceitfully presented to the public.”
I prefer a shorter version of this term - “politigenic”.
Modern Western societies are rife with politigenic problems.
This podcast discussion between Dr. Tom Woods, host of The Tom Woods Show, and author Ken McCarthy touches on only three examples of politigenic policies and their abhorrent consequences. McCarthy’s websites offer links to his books and films for you to learn more:

Much worse than human error.
Politigenic policies reap far more devastation than iatrogenic failures. Physician errors usually affect only individual patients. Politigenic errors are “collective” in nature and systemic in delivery giving them much greater potential to inflict harm, even death, on many people.
When Justin Trudeau issued and approved national pandemic mandates through the medical and public health organizations he led, his politigenic policies were very consequential to many of their victims. Those national vaccine mandates and broad lockdowns measures continue to leave a legacy of pain and destruction for far too many Canadians until this day.
A Citizen-led accountability audit
The National Citizens Inquiry continues to do the research to find a “vaccine” remedy against future politigenic harms. A thorough “audit” of the pandemic policies in effect between early 2020 and today will produce the ‘lessons learned’ form of “politigenic vaccine”. There is lots to learn from the Covid 19 era to ensure that the same mistakes are not repeated in the future.
Ironically, the NCI researchers will face some “vaccine hesitancy” among the policy makers and enforcers who left so much human suffering in their wake. Resistence to accept the ‘politigenic vaccine’ is expected within this cohort.
I admire the work of the NCI and the commitment of their leaders to finish the job they started a few years ago. All Canadians would benefit enormously if more citizen-led efforts like the NCI were to undertake projects to systematically identify and root out the underlying causes of politigenic harms wherever we find them. If this means that the public authorities who authored and championed those politigenic policies are made to “walk the blank”, so be it.
Legal beagles and sinister sharks
We are told by legal experts and public authorities that “Ignorance of the law is no defence when you are caught breaking it”. That standard of ethical behaviour should cut both ways.
When public policy results in the death or disability of citizens, failure to adequately pre-identify the risks of such a politigenic policy should not prevent the guilty from facing personal consequences.
Medical professionals carry malpractice insurance for iatrogenic mistakes. Nothing like this seems likely for politigenic harms. I doubt that an actuary exists who can formulate an effective policy given how great the stakes can become.
Instead, those responsible for the poor policies that led to bad politigenic outcomes have created their own forms of liability protection using government legislation and our tax dollars.
The word "politicogenic" or "politogenic" was a great find. So many applications for such a word in the current era.
Let's see how many "deniers" there will be to the "politogenic vaccine" once the NCI completes its work.
