When sex is a weapon.

The game of political whack-a-mole, played out in the public forum, is a mainstay for elite cowards who love to fight dirty. Today’s target mole is Frank Stronach.

Assassinations

Who can forget that the kill shots which ended the life of President Kennedy came from the seventh story window of a vacated office building (Oswalt was the shooter) and allegedly from behind a grassy knoll (by a suspected CIA assassin).

Character assassinations are also lethal, but in a different way than the mortal variety. Patrick Brown was a victim of one that was orchestrated against him when he led the Ontario Conservative Party. Patrick evidently upset the wrong people. This became publicly evident when two women suddenly came out of the woodwork claiming he had made unwanted sexual advances over a decade earlier with no concrete evidence. The media thrives on sensational gossip, and this story was red meat for their voracious appetites.

Donald Trump’s sex scandal centres around a notorious legal case concerning his alleged sexual misbehavour against porn star Stormy Daniels. The alleged offence occurred over a decade ago but is playing out now as a salacious courtroom drama in the courts of law and public opinion. The timing of this despicable charade is not coincidental given the upcoming POTUS election in November.

A week ago, Frank Stronach became the most recent “mole” that got whacked by a sex scandal. His wife died recently in April, and now some claims of sexual infidelity that allegedly occurred decades ago are popping up just months after he launched The Stronach Foundation for Economic Rights. The motives for this character attack are suspicious, especially given the timing. It’s a headache that the 92 year-old business magnate neither needs or deserves.

The players may be different…

In each of the above cases, the playbook is the same. The questions that arise, however, are:

• Who and how did Frank threaten? How bad was it to justify this attack on his character in such a public way?

• Who arranged the cowardly “shots from behind the grassy knoll to be fired”? This scandal seems too well planned and orchestrated to be carried out by a neophyte.

• Why is this character assassination happening now? What do perpetrators expect to gain from it?

Capitalism on trial?

The Stronach Foundation for Economic Rights  (economiccharter.ca) was launched early in 2024. In it, Frank laid out seven policy recommendations to revitalize Canada’s economic productivity and prosperity.

Note that all all seven domains targeted by Frank’s proposals are under the exclusive or partial control of various jurisdictions of government either by laws and regulations, or by funding.

Last month, I wrote seven Substack articles, one for each of Frank’s policies proposals. As a long-time Libertarian and Less Government Advocate, I felt that Frank expressed too much trust and respect for governent authority. In my opinion, public institutions rarely carry out their assigned duties and obligations to Canadian taxpayers effectively, fairly, respectfully or efficiently. I shared my Substack with the Frank Stronach Foundation and hope that Frank and Anthony Fury, Executive Director, read them.

So, who did Frank upset so egregiously? And was it related to the Frank Stronach Foundation?

I have my suspicions.

Money and power are always involved in political fights.

If a power-hungry elected politician, governments official and public sector labour union executive felt threatened by someone of influence, would you put it past them to pull off a character assassination?

A threat? What threat?

A threat could be perceived if departmental budgets or privileged subsidies were placed in jeopardy. Or if departmental staffing levels are to be reduced substantially or eliminated altogether. Or if the level of one’s authority and judgement are placed under scrutiny.

In government, relationships are vital to exercise authority, call in favours, or lean on others to shift a political dynamic.

Does Frank’s name and reputation pose any such threat when he weighs in on public policy with his pro-business suggestions?   

Changing tides.

After the devastation wrought upon many business owners, asset-holders, and average citizens who expected our tax-funded instutions to “defend and protect” their constitutional rights and freedoms, the public mood had become increasing surly since the Harper Conservations were defeated in 2015.

Trust and faith in government authority is now palpably low.

The rapid rise of “freedom groups” across Canada is a Trudeau Era phenomenon.

Public frustration with poor public policy can’t be easily dismissed, suppressed or ignored like Justin tried to do with thousands of protesting Truckers in early 2022.

The spirit of those truckers and their supporters lives on.

Frank lights the way.

The Stronach Foundation for Economic Rights offers a beacon on hope in our stormy political waters. I hope that the freedom-loving captains and passengers of every sea-going vessel and ever supply chain transport rig will see it and steer in Frank’s direction.
