Will Our MPs Represent Democracy?

Who and How Many of our 338 elected Members of Parliament will attend James Topp’s arrival at the “Reclaiming Our Voice IN OTTAWA” event?

Representative democracy in Canada?

Also known as indirect democracy, this is a type of democracy where elected persons represent a group of people, in contrast to direct democracy. Nearly all modern Western-style democracies function as some type of representative democracy. -Wikipedia

James Topp is an unelected representative of millions of Canadians. His walk from BC to Ottawa is his personal donation of time, effort and sacrifice to the cause of freedom in Canada. It was inspired by the elements of tyranny that emerged in recent years to the alarm and concern of citizens like James. Heroically, he has taken unprecedented and historic action to stand for his convictions.

James is doing the work that Canadians should rightfully expect from the 338 elected Members of Parliament. Too many of them sat on their duffs collecting six figure paycheques while doing nothing to curb said tyranny. Where was their support for the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms which allegedly guarantees every citizen:

(a) freedom of conscience and religion;

(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;

(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and

(d) freedom of association.

James Topp walked to draw attention to these freedoms and to remind every Canadian that the Charter was passed into Constitutional Law in 1982 to be our first and last defence against any form of tyranny perpetrated by any party against any and all citizens. If an elected MP lacks the courage to defend our Constitutional rights, then he or she does not deserve the job of representing any Canadians.

Reminiscent of Ghandi’s Salt March

Under British rule, Indians were prohibited from collecting or selling salt—Britain had a monopoly on that staple product, and taxed it heavily. In 1930, Mahatma Gandhi assembled his supporters to march 240 miles to collect salt from the ocean in protest of those authoritarian policies.

Mahatma Gandhi is celebrates as a great humanitarian in todays history books. Will James Topp’s courage and sacrifice also receive the recognition it deserves? Will even one of the state-subsidized media corporations cover the upcoming “Recovering Our Voice IN OTTAWA” event?

Tally and Report MP Attendance.

It’s unlikely that Justin Trudeau will attend the arrival of James Topp to Ottawa. However, 337 other MPs were chosen  to stand up for their constituents in the 2021 federal election. How many will dare to show their faces at this event? If everyone one of them were to attend except Trudeau, what will this say about his authority to remain Prime Minister?

Let’s have an MP Roll Call, shall we?

Let’s see who and how many MPs have the political courage and ethical backbone to support James Topp. While “Recovering Our Voice IN OTTAWA” may be an informal and unofficial event, it could be viewed as a proxy for grass roots democracy - like a referendum by elected representatives. We might wish to refer to “Topp’s Referendum on: Is Representative Democracy Working in Canada?”.

This event is the perfect opportunity to identity which MPs care about the Canadian Constitution. Let’s use this event to name them publicly so that they become known to every Canadian.

The Trusted Media gets an ‘exclusive’!

The only trusted media organizations in Canada are the Rebel Media, True North the Post Millennial. I suggest that they join together to man an MP Attendance Booth. Every MP will be expected to register his or her attendance at Recovering Our Voice IN OTTAWA, and to personally acknowledge James Topp for his accomplishment and the goals that he set out to achieve.

Failure to attend will only be excused by send RSVP regrets letter on Party or Parliamentary letterhead with a statement acknowledging Mr. Topp’s historic walk across the nation and it’s purpose.

Transparency Matters

Millions of concerned Canadians will wish to know the names of the MPs who support this event and which Party they represent.

While this event may not be deemed “official” Parliamentary business, it is a legitimate Constitutional matter in that it reveals which MPs will defend Canada’s Charter of Rights & Freedoms for all citizens.
