Above is the headline of an Premium article I read today that I received from the Epoch Times as a paid subscriber. I wish I could link the entire article to my readers because it offers an excellent summary of this January 6 assault on Liberty and it shows just one of the many ways that American politics has become so corrupt.

The Deep State, backed by a rich and well-positioned cabal of political power brokers, appears to be in charge of the direction of the American economy and society. Evidence continues to build to that the rights and freedoms promised by the American Constitution have already sunk beneath the waves like the island of Atlantis several millennia ago.

Canada is no better.

Our “Deep State”, which is based in Ottawa and distributed massively across this land, is also obedient to unseen “powers”. Trudeau, Singh, Freeland and many other Parliamentarians have clearly been marching in lockstep to amass more power while trampling on the constitutional rights and freedoms promised to all Canadians.

It began with the unmooring of our freedom of speech, then gradually infected all other freedoms until one fateful day that it was supercharged by a command that Emergency’s Act was declared in force nationwide. Even as the “emergency” has passed, the commands continue.

Fortunately, some freedoms has survived up until now. many uncensored sources of “alternative” news and opinion have not yet received their ‘marching orders from on high’ to shut up and follow orders, or else. Rumour has it that this dictate is coming soon, much to my chagrin.

2024 is in sight.

Optimists believe that 2023 was the year when most citizens woke up to the existential threat to the uniquely American and Canadian ways of life that each nation’s citizens have cherished for many generations.

Pessimists fear that an unseen and all-powerful cabal of Digital Dictators has already claimed the “keys to the kingdom” and little can be done to take those keys back.

With the above in mind, please describe your reaction to the following words which I submitted to an optimistic Declaration of Principles committee today for consideration. When you read these words, I am interested in your emotional and logical reaction:

May all who bear witness to the words of this Declaration, know of our unshakeable commitment to protect Nature’s gifts of life, to promote and celebrate the success of liberty (reference JFK’s inaugural speech), and to restore the rights and freedoms of every person to survive and thrive.
