This morning, I asked GROK questions I began to consider last night at an All Candidates event where Conservative MP Jamie Schmale was staged with Dr. Nell Thomas, Liberal challenger.
I'm 64. My mom, an immigrant, had to pay for hospital services when she had me, the second of 5. I've lived here all my life, and noticed how rapidly govt went from supposedly serving the taxpayers who elected them to self serving types who followed orders without question and quickly became used to their salaries with ever growing holiday pay and other perks unavailable to many working for a small business. I've contemplated leaving many times as I am tired of seeing the wasted lives.
I sympathize with your frustration. The privileged class in Canada are the people with secure government jobs, excellent employee benefits, above average compensation, inflation-indexed pensions and the luxury of having every other taxpayer subsidize their privileges. Merit takes a back seat to seniority for promotions. Most have no clue about how good they have it to everyone else who work in the competitive private sector. They all vote for more privileges because they believe that money grows on trees and Santa Claus is real.
I agree with your point regarding the odd switch in “Dr.” Thomas’s priorities.
We don’t need or want any more self-serving politicians, and I haven’t seen my GP for over 6 years. When I request medical attention, I have to wait 1 to 2 weeks for a call-back. I don’t know how many hours she spends at the clinic but it feels like how office workers goof off by “working from home”. Next thing we know, they’ll skip Zoom and just examine us by e-mail.
Last May I was told by her clinic I had to wait 12 months to even be PLACED INTO A QUEUE to request a specialist appointment for an injury that was life-threatening. Yes, that’s 12 months to get a spot in a queue to REQUEST an appointment… that’s like telling someone to FOAD. I was so shocked I asked the attendant to confirm my understanding and she replied YES, I understood her correctly. I have interacted with the attendant on earlier occasions and she isn’t malicious AFAIK. My GP was also okay before the COVID scam, but I guess everything’s been “reset”.
I also understand Canada’s “healthcare” system is very keen on MAiD so Canadians need to face that reality head-on without any delusions and to deal with it appropriately. “White Hats” are not coming to save you. At any rate, I think Nell Thomas has “crazy eyes”. She probably thought that photo represented herself nicely, whereas I would know not to smile like that for an important public photo, LOL.
As for your beef comparing “to serve and protect” against the Liberals’ shift to “national caregiving”, I think you may have something there. It relates to our shared penchant for libertarian virtues. We like to solve problems at the root, not to distract people by adding layers, not to obfuscate with vague terminology and not to create fake-work that justify misappropriating more public funds. To prove my point, MAiD is now deemed as a virtuous expression of “caregiving”. Hitler anyone? Maybe it was just as well that Nell Thomas found her true calling.
Thanks Sepp. My 93 yo mother in law is preparing for MAiD. She had terminal cancer and does not want to suffer like her husband after 8 years of cancer. He accepted MAID 8 years ago and I was present when he died. I respected his choice then as I do hers now. I will likely consider it too if the prospect of dying from cancer is like what my father endured she bowel and liver cancer took his life.
MAID is ok for some people. Freedom of Informed Choice must be present without coercion for it to be ethical.
I understand the circumstances and sympathize with the choices of your elders in-law. I don’t know if they had medical training or experience, and I don’t recall your mentioning your own capacity in that regard but it seems you have all had time and opportunity to make the best choices. I have my own, forever developing, appreciation of the realities that present to me and to other people. However, regardless of our choices, I can say I would also insist on a rigorous process of exploring and offering medical options, as part of informing the patient, with a complete absence of external coercion or conflicts of interest, especially those arising from even a hint of politics.
I believe I lost my best friend and my only sister, to COVID vaccination. I can say this because I do so as a former research immunologist and microbiologist. I had the training and access to censored information that the clinicians either ignored, didn’t have or were denied.
In the case of my best friend, he was in good health and suddenly suffered 4 rapid successive bouts of severe pain that hospitalized him on each occasion. Like me, he was a research immunologist, who completed his post graduate work in the same lab as I did. He was also a kidney transplant recipient of remarkable ability, as he was able to monitor and manage the ongoing maintenance of his own transplanted kidney. His kidney was healthy, after 25 years, and I verified that when I saw him a month before he died. He simply couldn’t take the severe pains that wracked his body after his COVID vaccination. The medical team that provided support and medication for his transplanted kidney simply gave up on him and stopped trying to determine what was causing his pains. Understand that this was towards the end of our forced vaccination, masking and lockdowns. No one entered a clinic, a hospital, much less a transplantation unit without COVID vaccination and a mask. I believe my friend had also been boosted.
All of this was still somewhat understandable for me, even if I would never have given up trying to look for the cause and cure of his pains. What truly angered me was that his medical team suggested he consider MAiD. That IMO was criminal because his medical team was the only lifeline for the maintenance of his transplanted kidney, which was still healthy. So they essentially told him he was being cut off. He had no choice but to choose MAiD. I know this because I had asked him to get a 2nd opinion regarding his pains but he and his wife, who was a senior nurse, told me it was no use for them to try that.
When my friend could no longer take the pains, he asked his wife to call the MAiD people and the very next day a retired doctor came to their home, administered the drugs and he died.
I dare anyone to tell me that this was a good thing. IMO, it was murder.
The reality is that my friend could have cured his pains and survived at least that episode of vaccine toxicity, had he undergone a straight fasting regimen, under supervision of his kidney function. Fasting can effectively combat the toxicity of mRNA COVID vaccination. I told him that but it was not going to work since his medical team was already set on having him commit suicide. I felt lost sharing how he must have felt, recognizing and enduring the betrayal. There was nothing I could do.
My sister in her 70s, got sick around the same time in Germany. Of course, there’s no MAiD program in Germany, and she was under an experimental treatment for lung cancer at the time. However, neither she nor anyone in her household smoked. She just suddenly got Stage 4 lung cancer. Then during her treatment program, the cancer rapidly metastasized in a manner consistent with turbo cancers from mRNA COVID vaccination. Like in Canada, there’s no way anyone could have regularly visited any hospital, and received cancer treatments in a research clinic, without mRNA COVID vaccination. Pfizer’s diabolical mRNA technology was actually developed by BioNTech in Mainz, Germany, not far from where my sister lived. I believe the “NTech” part stands for “nanotechnology”, not a comforting thought, on top of there not being any long term testing. Her medical team also didn’t determine what caused the turbo progression of her cancer, and towards the end my sister simply chose hospice.
I don’t think any informed person can still trust doctors, medical treatments or hospitals any more. It was delusional that we actually ever did, before COVID. They are still pretending that nothing bad really happened and that people should continue to take unending boosters and new concoctions till they literally fall over, or fall flat on their faces. Many of these doctors are not unlike the monsters who experimented on hapless civilians imprisoned by the Nazis. It is well-documented but not publicly known, that large numbers of those doctors actually went on to work for big pharma companies like Pfizer, immediately after WW2, and lived comfortable lives under the “Operation Paperclip” program of the Allies.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I certainly understand your reluctance to trust many allopathic institutions and corporations after the Covid period and the criminal actions of “public health”.
David, my father in law was a retired history teacher. His understanding of the human body was likely superficial. As such, he relied on the advice of medical professionals. His choice of MAiD was suggested to him by a family member, also a teacher, who knew the extent of his suffering. As a Buddhist, he had no moral concerns about his choice.
His wife, now 93, was with David through his eight year journey with cancer and reluctantly accepted his MAiD choice. It was a positive experience for all of us and she has no hesitation to take it herself. She was a primary school teacher.
My degree was an Honours B.Sc. Kinesiology which I have considered good preparation for the study of medicine. I applied to medical school at McMaster, and completed the steps for admission, but was not accepted. My degree has served me well throughout my lifetime and served as a solid foundation to guide my continued learning in health and fitness.
My eldest daughter is a pharmacist in an American Children’s hospital. My youngest daughter is ward Dietician as Sunnybrook hospital. Her husband is an Optometrist. I have a close circle of advisors in them.
I recently wrote a paper on Human Consciousness and submitted it to the Journal of Consciousness Studies in the UK. For 30 years, this has been an area of interest and investigation. The paper considers the scientific and theological ideas about consciousness. I have introduces a new set of ideas that are purely metaphysical. I am not religious and, as such, I have no moral concerns about MAiD for myself.
As a member of the CCCA (formerly the Canadian Covid Care Alliance, now Canadian Citizens’ Care Alliance), I am part of a network of medical, research and health care professionals who keep me grounded in valuable information related to allopathic medicine and alternatives. With your background, you would fit fell in that community (perhaps you are already a member?)
