Hostage-taking is legal in Canada

The Bloc Québécois represents ONLY Quebec. In joining the NDP to prevent the toppling of the Liberal government, the BQ MPs are holding the ROC (rest of Canada) hostage to an unpopular régime.

I have never understood why Quebec has its own exclusive federal political party and is allowed to sit in Parliament as BQ MPs considered equal to all other ROC MPs.

Sure, there may be historical reasons that made sense in the distant past, but those justifications have faded with time, progress and widespread cultural changes.

Canada has been described as a “multicultural society with two official languages”. However, you just have to stroll through any one of Canada’s cities to witness and hear a level of diversity that our founders could never have imagined.

Quebec residents like to think of their province as a “distinct society” deserving of a range of privileges that are NOT AVAILABLE to the ROC (rest of Canada).

I consider Quebec to be Canada’s only “privileged society”.

While many Canadians claim to support “diversity, equity and inclusion” (DEI), there is nothing in Quebec’s privileged arrangements that meets those DEI standards in relation to the nine other provinces and our territories. Why aren’t those DEI advocates holding placards at public rallies to insist on applying their principles to our constitutional arrangements between provinces?

Jagmeet Singh is the most un-Canadian political leader in Canada.

The NDP leader is part of the ROC hostage team and we all know that he will get away with this despicable pact with the BQ.

As I type these words, I know for certain that not a single government-subsidized corporate journalist will question the legitimacy of enabling the BQ, with its unearned privileges, to play hostage-taker politics over the ROC with the NDP as its sleazy ally.

Singh leads a national party with representation in all 338 electoral ridings across Canada. The population of the ROC outnumbers the population of Quebec yet he has chosen to “stack the deck” against what millions of ROC Canadians want immediately - a federal election!

Singh propped up the minority Liberal government via a sleazy deal with Justin Trudeau and now he has struck yet another sleazy deal with the BQ - a party that should not exist in contemporary Canada (IMHO).

A sinking ship

Pundits predict that the Liberals will fall to an historic low in Parliamentary seats in the next election. If this results in more NDP and BQ seats, Canada will still have too many sleazy politicians deciding on the priorities of the Canadian populace.

Democratic elections need serious reform and, for me, only a Digital Direct Democracy will achieve an outcome we all want and need. We must introduce competition into the economic domains that we now consider “public services”. In addition, every citizen must be able to exercise his or her Freedom of Informed Choice using an online facility to OPT-IN or OPT-OUT of services supplied by governmental service providers.

A Digital Direct Democracy economy will greatly weaken the influence and powers of political leaders like Jagmeet Singh. I say, “good riddance” to this very sleazy man who serves only his personal political power and thinks nothing of throwing the ROC under the bus.
