David Rapaport, a university professor and government employee, argues in favour of public sector labour unions. I, with a 42-year career in the private sector, believe they should be abolished.
Boy could I talk on this subject. In order to even succeed in the private sector I have had to join Unions just to qualify for contracts, complete jobs or enter sites that were unionized. I am on withdrawal from Local 465, firefighters union, local 230 teamsters union, local 793, operating engineers union and one I would have to research. This is how much control they have over the workforce. And with the DIE culture (race to the bottom) our HR debts. are perplexed with the regulations that make every worker equal in productivity, making Canada the least productive nation in the G7. Oh boy could we talk on this subject.
To succeed ,not just financially, but mentally and emotionally ,I chose a business with no gov. involvement as a matter of fact the gov. did not even recognize me, and that is how I completed the last 35 years of my life. I left a lot out but to the point Mr. Rappaport is an opinion leader that must be challenged. You have to live the damage to see the damage and that man has not.
