Why I won’t buy an EV, or a Liberal government.
Mark P. Mills provides the science and the data to explain why we must be careful in planning our energy future and question all of the assumptions proposed by Climate Change zealots.
Political Science IS NOT Energy Science!
Mark P Mills speaks for all Climate Crisis skeptics! His presentation adds to my long-held list of reasons why I distrust, and do not respect, political leaders like Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau. They apparently know less genuine science that my two year old cat (and he’s pretty smart!)
Sadly, I also have little faith in the knowledge of Science and data analysis possessed by the average Canadian. Admittedly, Mills’ presentation will be difficult to understand by anyone who has not studied STEM subjects, especially Statistics. A Google search reveals that neither Biden nor Trudeau studied STEM at school. This fact begs the question:
Why are we electing leaders and public representatives to positions of authority in an era when rapid advances in science and technology as so vital to our collective prosperity and safety?
My perspective.
In my 36-year career as a professional IT Recruiter, I interviewed over 10,000 job candidates for thousands of staffing requests from organizations in most sectors of the economy. That experience leads me to another vital question:
Why is there no thoughtful and well-defined selection criteria that political candidates must meet in order to qualify as a political candidate for elections? Shouldn’t a background in STEM be a necessary attribute for a public leadership role in today's Digital Economy?
Steven Guilbeault a poor choice.
Why did Justin assign Guilbeault to lead Canada’s Environment and Climate Change department. Steven received a BA (Bachelor of Arts) degree with no mention of the subjects of study (likely omitted because it contains no STEM subjects). Note also that he was a CLIMATE ACTIVIST before government employment which indicates his longterm narrative bias. With those credential, how can I trust that he possesses the willingness, or even the ability, to understand the scientific arguments of skeptics like me? Even if Guilbealt watched the Mark Mills presentation, would be understand it or be open to its arguments?
Mark Mills is a Canadian. Why can’t Canadians elect men like him instead of ill-informed zealots like Steven Guilbeault to lead Canada’s energy future?
Justin Trudeau wanted a balance of genders in his first 2015 caucus after becoming Prime Minister and declaring himself a “feminist”. Former Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Catherine McKenna, may have been a politically expedient gender choice for the assignment but an otherwise poor choice based on her qualification. Wikipedia reveals her bio which shows a complete absence STEM in her background. .
Justin just doesn’t get it, and neither do Liberal voters.
Stephen Harper stated in his book Right Here, Right Now that he quickly adjusted to the realization that he had been elected to be Prime Minister for ALL CANADIANS, not just for Conservatives. Justin, on the other hand, appears to only be accountable to his personal ambitions to lead Canada to a New World Order defined by World Economic Forum globalists.
The most important, non-negotiable selection criterion for any national leader is to be a PATRIOT - to be accountable only to the nation of citizens who entrusts him or her to protect them, and to be faithful to their oath of office to govern by the Bill of Rights.
Justin fails to meet the wise judgement and other selection criteria that I might define as a professional recruiter if I were awarded the assignment to search for the next Prime Minister of Canada. Unfortunately, since 2015, the majority of Canadians have not determined their choice for PM on the same basis as I have.
Is there any hope that Canadian voters will be wiser in choosing their selection criteria in the next federal election?
I am not optimistic.
I agree wit Nectar. I remember reading some time ago that one of the last stages of democracy occurs when the populace discover they can obtain "alms" from the country's Treasury. In fact government realized promising alms is the best way to get elected. At some point they changed from using force to protect us to using force to extract money from us to buy votes.
Politicians don't need to be educated. They supposedly hire educated staff, experts, to let them know what is feasible and what the tradeoffs are. But of course, all they really want the bureaucrats to tell them is how to get re-elected. The standard formula is to rob Peter to pay Paul And "Paul" they mean friends and supporters.
