Israel’s Prime Minister, ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu is a polarizing figure by circumstance and necessity. Leading a tiny Jewish state amidst much larger Muslim nations, it’s a cakewalk, right?
> I would be proud of the economic and technological progress made under Bibi, but denounce his war policies
You can't separate the two things. Israel is almost entirely an artificial state, founded on so many lies (ashcanazis are not genetic descendents of those original jews? and those original jews were themselves unjust violent conquerors of prior canaanites?). It leeches countless BILLIONS of dollars from US taxpayers every single year, not to mention the tech transfers - it's effectively a US military base. None of this is just or organic, and none of it is Netinyahoo's doing, very weird that you should credit any of this to him.
Nor can you separate all the blood on his hands, his vile racism, his enduring lust for genocide, his dishonesty (remember how EAGER he was to preemptively attack Iraq and Iran in the 90s, all the lies he pushed in furtherance of that (anthrax, wmd's), his probable involvement in 9/11?), oh the lies. He's a "war criminal", he's evil.
It's also weird that you should be proud of Harper. Sure he wasn't as overtly nasty and commie as the others, but he was still very evil (I guess he supported negligibly less brutal violent theft, he still supported violently telling us what we can eat, he still supported commie healtcare/welfare..). What exactly were you proud of about him?
It is obvious that your views have been influenced by very different sources than mine.
I know nothing about you, your heritage, your work and academic history, political and religious preferences, or anything else. I respect your right to hold yours views as I do for every human being because the life lens of every person is absolutely unique.
To answer your question about Harper, it deserves a richer and more nuanced response than I am willing to prepare by text. Suffice it to say that I have many reasons to like and respect him.
You knew about the billions of dollars that Israel steals from US taxpayers every year. You knew about his repeated pleas during the 1990's to invade iraq/iran and the hyper fear mongering about them, claiming they were a serious and imminent threat to the US and the world, and begging for US to "intervene". Did you not hear about "the dancing israelis"? Google it if you haven't, it's wild stuff. Did you know how Israel stole US uranium, using organized crime, to build their bombs? You (should) know about USS Liberty? My "life lens" is not unique - it's all well recorded fact. I can only imagine how much more sinister the dark secret backroom stuff gets.
It’s interesting that you can read my mind and know what I knew in the past. I have not yet mastered the art of mind reading. I spent virtually no time following any news relating to Israel prior to the current war and reading “Bibi” solely out of an interest in national leaders. Perhaps you are Jewish and spent lots of time immersed in Jewish history and politics, but as someone of Scottish descent, the history of the British Isles is more interesting to me.
If you know where I can learn to mind read, please advise.
Start with uber-libertarian Scott Horton. Move on to libertarian Ryan Dawson after that. The great ancap/libertarian Saifedean Ammous is also amazing, he's done a few recent episodes on this topic, as well as a debate with the disappointing Walter Block.
(If you aren't so interested or knowledgeable with Zionism/Israel, why did you make this post, and push that propaganda :s.)
That was not propaganda. It was an opinion which you evidently don’t share.
I like Scott Horton but don’t subscribe to his podcast.I am a big fan of saefedean Ammous but am not caught up on this podcasts. I don’t know Ryan Dawson.
I follow podcasts on many topics besides Economics and Politics. I also write daily. It’s impossible to keep up with all the sources on the web.
I abhor propaganda, but I understand that some people will label an opinion as propaganda if they don’t like it.
I wish I had time for a full comment, for now just a very short objection:
You say:
The same can be said for Russia’s Putin and America’s Biden.
Seriously?? Biden? Putting his nation first above all else?????

Read his book and you will discover some of them.
